This Christmas, your generosity can help bring comfort, dignity and connection to patients in palliative care and their families, just like Brendan and Tracey’s.

For many of us, Christmas is a time for family, laughter, and cherished traditions. But for patients spending their final days away from home in hospital or hospice, the season can feel very different - quiet, fragile, and at times, overwhelming.

That’s when small acts of kindness can mean the most. A gentle hand to hold, a shared cup of tea and a chat, being able to sit outside in the fresh air, or the chance to be closely cuddled up with a loved one – all moments that can help to bring comfort and peace when time is precious.

Tracey, loving wife of Brendan, wrote to us of her gratitude recently. “I would like to share our family’s sincere thanks for the love and care shown to us during the last week of Brendan’s life. He was treated with the greatest respect, and we were shown many acts of kindness. Overall, the whole experience was better than I could have ever imagined, and we left with a sense of peace that everything that had been done for Brendan - and us as a family – was everything that anyone could have possibly done.”

With your support, our caregivers can continue to surround patients and their families with the utmost love and compassion this Christmas.

  • Comfort and dignity through gentle care items like soothing lotions and supportive mobile chairs
  • Moments of closeness with special Cuddle Beds that allow loved ones to lie side by side
  • Reassurance for families through children’s books that help guide conversations about loss
  • Connection and companionship so that no patient spends these moments alone

Every gift, no matter the size, helps provide care that goes beyond the clinical — care that honours each person’s humanity and creates memories that families can hold onto forever.

This Christmas, you can help ensure patients and their families experience love, comfort and connection when it truly matters most. Please consider giving a gift with real meaning, and real impact, this Christmas.
