St John of God Subiaco Hospital is one of Australia’s premier private research institutes, with a team of researchers dedicated to solving relevant health care issues relating to our community and the world through research.

To continue building on this vital work, St John of God Foundation is proud to announce the launch of a new research grants program at St John of God Subiaco Hospital, commencing in 2022.

Available in an initial pilot phase, the grants are designed to further support and grow St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s world class clinician-led research, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care, treatment and health care outcomes through translatable research.

The grant submission process is a via single stage application, closing 5pm Friday 10 June.

The two initial grant categories will be:

1. Early Career Researcher Grants: A minimum of one early career researcher grant per year (valued up to $15,000), open to all St John of God Subiaco Hospital caregivers.

2. Seed Funding Grants: A minimum of one seed funding research grant per year (valued up to $50,000), open to St John of God Subiaco Hospital clinicians.

The 2022 recipients will be announced during St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s annual ‘Research Week’ event later this year.

“The grants have only been made possible thanks to donations from grateful patients, family members and other supporters, who believe in improving health care through research innovation, to benefit others in the future. We are grateful for their generosity and excited to launch this program in partnership with St John of God Subiaco Hospital," said St John of God Foundation CEO Bianca Pietralla.

The new grants program will be reviewed at the end of a pilot, with the ultimate goal of growing the program in future years through connecting philanthropic donations and community support with more of our research-active hospitals.
