St John of God Foundation's compassionate 'Gift of Hope' fund has been created to support patients to receive the best possible treatment during their cancer battle.

Many of us know someone who has received a life-threatening cancer diagnosis, but what is less well-known is that some cancer treatments can be out of reach for many Australians, especially if they have been unable to continue to work due to their condition or have limited financial means.

"There are many things we can measure in health care, but it is impossible to quantify the hope that your generosity gives to people suffering from cancer." Associate Professor Tim Clay, St John of God Health Care medical oncologist.

To help make a difference for cancer patients in need, please send a gift of hope using our secure donation form below.

Associate Professor Tim Clay, St John of God Subiaco Hospital
St John of God Health Care medical oncologist Associate Professor Tim Clay has seen first-hand the impact that a Gift of Hope can have on a patient.

A/Prof Clay explains, "The standard of care available for patients with common cancers in Australia is world-leading. However, my patient had cancer of an unknown origin which limited the available treatments.

“Advanced treatments and tests that offer a more personalised approach to care can be out of reach for some patients. Generous community support provides an avenue for patients to access this care.

“For patients like mine, knowing there’s a chance that a new therapy could extend their life – it gives them both hope and courage to keep fighting their cancer.”
