On Wednesday 19th October, St John of God Foundation had the pleasure of hosting ‘An Evening to Celebrate Philanthropy’.
At the event, we celebrated our wonderful supporters and the transformational medical research and personalised care their kindness makes possible.
The event brought together donors, clinicians, caregivers and hospital executives, and took place amongst prehistoric giants at WA Museum Boola Bardip’s Dinosaurs of Patagonia exhibit.
The formalities began with a beautiful Welcome to Country from Whadjuk/Balladong Noongar Elder, Freda Ogilvie, followed by a heartfelt welcome and thank you by emcee and Foundation CEO, Bianca Pietralla.
Long-time donor Vic Jakovich kindly shared his personal journey to becoming a supporter of health care for his local community, and reflected on what giving means to him and his family.
Guests also heard from Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon Dr Wen Chan Yeow, who expressed her thanks for donor support of the Magseed technology, after seeing first-hand the difference it has made for her patients.
St John of God Foundation Chair Tony Howarth AO concluded the formalities with a final thank you to guests for their attendance, continued support, and generosity in helping to create better health outcomes in our community.
Attendees were invited to explore and enjoy the Dinosaurs of Patagonia exhibit, experience live demonstrations of the Magseed technology, as well as refreshments and live music by local contemporary ensemble, Aquila.
St John of God Foundation CEO Bianca Pietralla said the evening provided a wonderful opportunity to connect supporters to the impact of their generosity.
“It was a privilege to acknowledge and celebrate the impact of donor support and the dedication of frontline caregivers, and how together, we are transforming health care in our communities,” she said.
